Maker Kits FAQ and Support
Who are the kits for?
They are mainly intended for Scouts, schools, clubs and community groups that want a practical STEM activity. They work best when adults prepare the session properly and manage soldering safety.
Can complete beginners build them?
Yes, with supervision. The kits are designed to be approachable, but young people still need a clear safety briefing, a sensible workspace and adults who can help with soldering and troubleshooting.
Are the kits individually packed?
Smaller orders are normally supplied with PCBs individually protected and the other components grouped in labelled bulk bags. For larger orders, individual packing may still be possible if requested, but it uses more plastic.
Are batteries included?
No. CR2032 battery cells are not included, unless a specific batch notice says otherwise.
Is delivery included in the price?
No. Royal Mail delivery is confirmed separately once parcels are packed and ready to send.
What should I do if something is missing?
Check the packing list in the parcel first, then contact the organiser with the kit type, quantity and missing item.
How are funds used?
The project helps fund practical STEM activities and supports young people learning by making. Any surplus from kit batches is used to support community STEM work, equipment, materials and future activities.
